A young Christian tried to balance the love of God and the feelings he harbored for a beautiful young lady he admired. He kept in his heart the feelings of yearning and rather sought to fill her desires as a mere friend.



As they got acquainted, they had some moments that the young man, Alan thought it was a sign to finally express his deep and abiding feelings. Eventually, he got spurned. Zara had her principles well defined. She had no interest in committing to a relationship because she had to focus on other equally important things in her life.



Alan was so good to be true. He was relentless , optimistic and honest with his feelings. He got obsessed with Zara but the butterfly didn’t tickle. 



After what seemed to be an embarrassment between the two, Alan lost Zara for a good long time. Several days of searching became years of hurt-so-good feeling of yearning, ache of crushing and sorrowful nights.



Relentless Alan never gave up the chase of beautiful Zara. He pursued and one day had a tasteful lead that led to the reconnection of two acquaintances. 



They created memories together till the butterfly tickled and there was an unquenchable spark between them that resulted in an unspeakable quality of intimacy.



They are now mutual muses and an inspiration to the young adult.

Till the Butterfly Tickled

My last memory of my mother, Akosua Nkwantabisa Amofa was when she sang along to the lyrics that emanated from the static radio hanging on the wall one Saturday morning, 16th of March 1998 at a distant residence of Fa As3m Ky3 village in the western part of Ghana, as she swept the compound before going to trade. Six-year-old me with a tattered and a bit dirty straight dress sat on an old mat with legs wide apart in front of our run-down, antiquated, clay-walled tenement while my three-year-old brother, Kwabena Ketseketse a.k.a KK, named after our grandfather, still slept in that ramshackle of a home that hosted the three of us and all our belongings. As the weak sounds emanated from the radio, Maa Akos sang the song out loud with so much sadness that I could only hear her voice as it shivered. A Thousand Tears Ago

Lily was at the mercy of being raped by four rascals. Their scary T-shirts, tattered jeans sagging below their narrow buttocks, red and dirty pieces of cloth tied around their flat foreheads and their deep and authoritative voices all sewed together sent shivers through Lily and she felt dreadful. Gary fortunately saved her from such tragedy of being raped by those rascals who huffed and puffed heavy smokes from their thick and dark coloured lips and who succeeded in ripping off Lily’s clothes. Her tears rained no more, her painful screams dried up in the dry season and her colourful desires sent sparks of smiles on her cheeks. Incredible is how she felt as her knight and shining armor appeared on a fine white horse to fight for her rescue. Lily on the other hand had being crushing on Gary for a good long time before he being his savior for that dreadful night. Fate brought them together so they got acquainted and hanged out a couple of times. As their friendship developed, Lily became obsessed the more. She wanted more than friendship with Gary but only expressed it through her actions, avoidance and endless philosophies of her ravings. Gary just saw her as his good friend and so tarried as such. Coincidentally, Gary had an embarrassing encounter with Charlotte, a fine and fair young lady from a different university and eventually fell in love together after several engagements. As usual Gary planned a meet up with Lily after lectures but he came along with his co-worker and classmate Carl. Lily in her case thought that was going to be the awaited proposal but was a bit astonished upon seeing both of them seated around her at the table. Carl upon realizing that both Gary and Lily were just friends decided to take advantage and so pushed several times to hang out with her. He succeeded in the short run and got acquainted with Lily who after the second outing developed some feelings for him. At least she wanted to make Gary jealous and also live in the moment since she had spent all her time thinking about only Gary and turning down proposals from guys who wanted to go out with her. Carl’s goal was to win Lily’s heart and so he worked towards it thoroughly. Gary smelled the changes in the demeanour of Lily and felt dreadful. He was scared of loosing her because he loved her too. What could he do? He made his feelings known to her one day after lectures in front of everybody and it was emotional. Carl felt saddened and angry but accepted it nonetheless. Gary and Lily had the time of their lives. They obsessed and longed for each others bodies continually until Lily figured out at level 400 that Gary was in a serious relationship with Charlotte. It was disheartening for Lily because she sacrificed a lot for the relationship to go on. She was cut to the heart and got broken in soul. She raved grumpily and wished she could have turned the hands of time.
