The ESS 002 Dye Sleeve Henley Shirt is a relaxed-fit shirt made from Funtua cotton and studio scraps, featuring hand-dyed detachable sleeves that introduce colour, texture and versatility to an otherwise understated silhouette.

Designed to be worn with or without its sleeves, the shirt offers different ways of wearing while retaining its original form.

As part of the Essentials capsule, ESS 002 reflects our interest in modularity as a way of making clothing more adaptable to the people who wear it. We believe familiar wardrobe forms can hold more possibilities — through thoughtful construction, considered materials and the freedom to wear a piece in different ways.

ESS 001 is the first artifact from our Essentials capsule.

Designed as a pair of wide-leg trousers, the piece features an adjustable side panel made from hand-dyed Funtua cotton. The panel can be opened and adjusted to alter the silhouette, allowing the trousers to be worn in more than one way.

The design revisits an idea from the first piece in our first capsule, translating it into a more considered approach to modularity, material, and everyday wear.

Crafted from soft, breathable linen, its fluid silhouette and petal-inspired panels move gently with the body. ESS 003 is a reworking of the everyday overshirt through cut, construction and material. Made from locally produced Funtua cotton, the piece has a relaxed, cropped silhouette with voluminous sleeves and a shaped front that gives the garment its distinctive form. A fabric brooch sits at the centre of the construction, allowing the front to be gathered and secured while becoming part of the visual language of the piece. The garment can also be turned and worn front-to-back, offering a different relationship between the cut, opening and back of the garment. The Plain variation is made primarily from undyed Funtua cotton, keeping the focus on its form and construction. The Dyed variation incorporates hand-dyed Funtua cotton and studio-developed colour placement, creating a more graphic version of the same design. As with the Essentials capsule, ESS 003 is designed around the idea that a familiar garment does not have to remain fixed in one form. Model is XS, wearing S
